The Butterfly Kiss is my favorite toy to date. If you can look past its cutesy exterior, you may find your new favorite too.
What’s it look like? The Butterfly Kiss is a small rabbit-style vibe, with only about 2” to 3” of insertable length and a clit-hugging butterfly. I assume the butterfly covers a bullet, but the whole thing is squishy jelly and you can’t really see the internal workings. The head of the shaft looks almost twice as thick as the rest of the thing. It’s designed for g-spot stimulation, but it honestly doesn’t do very much for my g-spot besides adding a nice, deep feeling of vibration. I mean, that’s nice and all, but it’s no star there. I suppose I can think of the g-spot head as a bonus to the clit vibe, but not the star of the toy.
How does it run? There are three speeds you can cycle through by pushing the button on the bottom on the shaft. The first speed and last speeds seem like extremes while the middle is just right. But let me tell you, this toy does something magic when you switch it to the highest speed. More on that later. My very sophisticated turning-the-toy-on-and-leaving-the-room test revealed that the highest speed is the only one loud enough to hear through a comforter and blanket. Easy enough to use. The whole thing is supposed to be waterproof, but I have yet to test that part out. (The motor housing and button are sealed very well, so I believe it would be just fine underwater.) It takes two AAA batteries.
Yes, but how does it feel? This is not a toy for thrusting, although I like to get a few in before the final countdown begins. Grinding is the way to go with this one. The shaft is flexible so you can bend/smush the butterfly vibe against yourself without having to hold it in place with your other hand. It doesn’t do anything fancy like the Rabbit Habit, but that one never worked for me the way it was supposed to anyway. Why pay $90 for a toy with an awkward clit vibe and a shaft that quits spinning when pressure is put on it? But I digress.
I found the Butterfly Kiss to be the perfect size for penetration, but I have a fairly narrow vagina and, of course, your mileage may vary. The head is definite a pleasant stretch, but once that’s in, you sort of forget about the rest of the shaft. You’ll need something bigger if you’re looking for something to really work you over. This one gives me the quick orgasms of a clit vibe with some of the full, deep feeling of a dildo. I am a very satisfied customer.
What’s the downside? The stupid thing is made from thermo-plastic rubber, which means it picks up lint like a fiend. I store it in a silky little bag, but if it’s been lying next to me in bed (spooning, as lovers do), it picks up fuzz and hair from my jersey cotton sheets. This isn’t that bad a downside, though, because you wash it between uses anyway.
So is it worth it? For $17, fuck yes it’s worth it. Best of all, Babeland is offering it at 40% off until March 3 (or as supplies last). You have so little to lose! I highly recommend it.
