Je Joue SaSi
Would it be too corny if I said the SaSi is teaching me to appreciate the virtues of patience?

What’s it look like? The SaSi is all smooth, soft silicone with the exception of a small plastic faceplate on the upper side. It fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. Comfort is always a good thing, but it’s even more important for the SaSi because it’s held in place for a little longer than a typical toy. The port for the charger is kept hidden under a silicone flap near the bottom of the faceplate. The five buttons are near the top of the faceplate, right over the massaging ball on the underside. There’s not much to see on the underside of the SaSi, except for the slight protrusion of the massaging tip. It’s actually kind of sexy to watch it move around under the silicone. In my head, I call the massaging tip “the little nub,” but that is not sexy at all. “Massaging tip” it is.
How does it work? There are twelve patterns of movement that the SaSi cycles through. Basically, the massaging tip moves travels around an elliptical track. Each movement pattern has the tip going over one segment of the ellipse. (Yes, it’s an ellipse, not a circle. There are pictures in the instruction manual! Yes, it has an instruction manual.) The speed of the massaging tip can be adjusted with a push the up and down buttons. Pushing and holding the up and down buttons controls the presence, intensity, and pattern of vibration. The left and right buttons cycle through the patterns of rotation.
The fact that this thing comes with an instruction manual should tell you something. I wouldn’t say that the SaSi is confusing, just a little intimidating. Stay with me here because there’s sort of a lot going on.
There are two modes of use: Customize and Favorites. In Customize mode, the SaSi runs through its twelve patterns, moving to the next one every twenty seconds. Pressing the right button skips ahead to the next pattern; pressing the left button goes back through the previous patterns. Pressing the center button in Customize mode will keep the SaSi in one pattern until you hit the button again or skip to the next pattern.
The big deal about the SaSi, apart from the fact that it feels amazing, is that it remembers your input. If you skip a pattern in Customize mode enough times, the SaSi will assume that you don’t like. Repeatedly pressing the left button to get to a pattern will tell the SaSi that you love it. This input shapes Favorites mode. In this mode, the SaSi is limited to movement in your five favorite patterns. It stays in each pattern until you skip to the next one.
The SaSi makes some noise, but it isn’t loud as long as the vibration is off. The three intensity levels grow in volume, of course. The highest setting is fairly loud. There are three pulsating patterns that go along with the vibration, including a particularly pleasant one that slides from low to high intensity. The vibes can be turned on at any time while the tip is moving. It’s even possible to use the SaSi as a normal vibrator. In Favorites mode, you can stop the circling movement by pressing the center button, then adjust the vibration with the up button.
Yes, but how does it feel? Better than my finger, that’s for sure. The movement is so smooth and steady. Near the end of my sessions with SaSi, I’m pressing down hard on the head and it doesn’t slow up or shudder like some toys I’ve used. The movement of the tip has only one level of intensity, but that doesn’t have to suck. When I use it, I start out with my legs closed and just lay the SaSi on top, nudging it down a little to make sure the tip is in the general vicinity of my clit. (The tip moves around a lot, so the general vicinity is good enough.) The labia get most of the attention this way, which was a completely novel thing for me when I first used it. Adjusting my position and the pressure on the nose of the SaSi is all the variation in intensity I need.
While I have my favorites, I can honestly say that each of the different patterns is beautiful in its own way. I think the best part is when the SaSi moves between patterns. Sometimes you get lucky and the tip has to sweep around 90 degrees or more to get to its next station. I fucking love those transitions because they feel like fairly random, one-off moments. Contrasted with the orderly 20-second circuits that are the norm, those sweeps around the clit come as a pleasant surprise. I just wish they happened more often.
What’s the downside? I wish the movements were more random. Instead of 20-second patterns, I’d like the tip to just roam around and explore more like really great oral sex. I have no clue why the Je Joue people didn’t program a complete circle into the twelve patterns. It seems like a simple and obvious enough thing to do — plus it would have driven me up the wall — but, alas, there is no circle.
So far, the SaSi alone has not brought me to orgasm. I am completely alright with that and love it regardless. For me, the SaSi is about the journey, not the destination.
Is it worth it? At $150, this is the priciest toy I own. I would gladly pay that price again. I wouldn’t call this a must have, but I would hate to be without it. If you love to be teased and can afford a little robot to do it for you, you should add the SaSi to your wish list.
